Artist Statement:
5/28
Artist Statement: To make something different that's not really thought about much by people. I like to use rule of thirds a lot because it is common and attracts the eye a lot. In many projects I like to mess with color and affects and change the perspective on things. My goal is see things differently from others. Try to use a source of craftsmanship using photoshop or not.

Choice Project
5/28
In this project, I decided to do a photo that represented school is out because we are not only at the end of year, but it is the last project of the school year so I believed it would be nice to finish off with a photo that represented school being out. I set my shutter high and I put it in continuous mode to acreage the subject to be visible and his action will be caught in action and not really blurry and so it captures the moment. ( Computer Malfuntion w/ contact sheet. "Wouldn't create" )

Portrait
"4/24/17
In this activity, I had taken 20 photos for portrait practice. I blurred the background with a low aperture. I used a different viewpoint to create a better photo as well as angle by not using much of excess space so since it's a portrait it focuses on the person in the photo. I tried to follow rule of thirds and almost fill the frame. I also had to turn the camera. A difficulty of shooting outside in the morning is lighting because it isn't bright enough to hide the imperfections causing difficulty to a portrait. Go to Gallery to see final photo.

White Balance
4/19
In this activity, we took photos of a white piece of paper to show an aspect of white balance from different lighting. We had went from different shades of light by going to different areas on campus such as the hallways, auditorium, classroom, and using the sun and shade outside. This supported our understanding of the reflection of light to the camera for white balance and creating/ taking photos. The camera had to add cooler/warmer tones to even out depending on what shade of the light there is from shade or direct light.

David Hockney
4/6/17
In this activity, I had created a David Hockney "joiner" montage. I did this by picking a tree and using the elements of the school to create a stronger photo. I had took 12 photos and put them together to make one grid like photo with a little overlay to show the grid like images. I had used a big element of lines in this picture. If I did this project again, I would improve the shades of light and better matching of the photos and possibly change the position I am in to get a different and better angle.

Final Motion Photos
3/21/17
These are the final finished and edited photos of the motion project. The project was beneficial due to learning new tricks and ways to see motion and capture motion in daily life. It creates more opportunities as a photographer taking pictures in everyday life.

Panning
3/15/17
In the Panning activity, I had captured a picture of a moving car so my shutter priority was on (S) and on 200. My ISO was on auto and the camera is in continuous mode. To be able to get the Panning photo with the car not blurred of the background blurred. I had brace my camera and take the pictures of the car and pan with it.

Motion Blur
3/14/17
In this project, we used low shutter speed (30), and my camera was on continuous mode as well as the ISO being 100 to capture a picture that implies and shows motion within the subject. I took a picture of two flags blowing in the wind and it follows rule of thirds and it implies motion by the Blur, but even with the Blur, the goal was to still expose and be able to tell what the subject is.

Sharp Action
3/13/17
In this activity, we had taken pictures as action photography. To do this we set the camera to continuous mode. I had set my camera to a shutter speed of 400 to capture the movement as well as a ISO of 400 and aperture of 5.6. The subject had jumped off the table and I was able to capture him in mid air and freeze his position.

Sequential Narrative
2/28/17
In This Project we had used continuous mode to capture sharp action with a high shutter speed. In my project I had made the subject in a motion in which I had to capture the whole body to show movement. I had used Photoshop's quick selection tool to expose and show every stage of the subjects movement. The pictures show a feeling of doing what you want!

History Of Photography
My partner Lidel and I had the topic "Advertising Photography." We researched and laid out a set of information that has been used for a long time and has studies that proves what attracts people such as McDonald's colors are red and yellow due to people's eye are more attracted to it. In the Kahoot, we put "What type of setting should be in advertising to attract the viewer? Bright or Dark" & the answer was bright because it is more appealing for people to go there. We also asked questions such as "Should the productive displayed many times within the advertisement?" And the answer is yes because the viewer will know what he is seeing and what they are advertising as well as them using composition to attract people. Our slides are below.
Learning The Class "Kahoot"
1/9-1/10/17
In this project, many students beloved in the first amen ester that people didn't know each other well enough so we were separated into multiple groups and made a Kahoot Quiz to learn other students. We got a paper to write there name with the picture and put there fact. My three facts were that I can do the Samoan Fire Knife, I had done it since I was 13 years old and now I do shows for people at parties. I've also never broken a bone in my life despite all my injuries throughout my life. As well as eventhough I'm surrounded by Bronco fans since I'm in Denver, I'm a big New England Patriots fan, ever since I was about 5 which is when I got into football as well. The weirdest one fact is that a guy has a cuttlefish as a spirit animal. "Greyson", but one really cool fact I found out is Leah can read Hebrew. I guess I found out many similarities with class mates because all them have a unique thing about them and a lot are somewhat active to cool things. I enjoy.

Illusion Photos
12/1/16
In our illusion project, the idea was to create images that had a meaning to them but had a illusion to it as well and we did so by using photoshop. So for my illusions, I put a shark in a cup of water with a boy and a giant gorilla in the city. The shark one, has a meaning that danger can be anywhere, and my other is to say R.I.P. Harambe... Overall I believe I can advance my craftsmanship on these photos and meanings. I use rules of composition such as rule of thirds and fill the frame and making my own frame.

Spooky Project
10/27/16
So it's about that time around Halloween so to bring Halloween spirit around, we had decided to make spooky photos... We walked around the campus and streets for good spots for something spooky, I had found multiple and I used the idea in composition on fill the frame and making my own frame, and using reflections and from a bird's eye view, we used them all and soon began to use photos shop and began to edit and create a spooky photo, I used a lot of cropping and blending to make the spider pop with color and the ghost in the window pop and make more figures in the reflection of the water... I came with my picture ideas due memorization of old spooky movies and horror films and haunted houses and what the settings of theme was or will be like. The strongest aspect in this project is that if it were to be seen in person, it would spook you, if you see these in films, it would spook you and that was my goal to this project.

Point of View & Texture
9/16/16
In this particular project we took photos of point of views and texture so for example something is seen from a bird's eye view, a worm's eye, etc... In my photos below I had filled the frame with important the main reason of the photo and I used certain aperture to focus on what I want a viewer to observe, I had used leading lines as well from the vine leading your eye but is as well focused on it. Most photos have been bird's eye. The assignment was big on perspectives with views and what it would seem from like on the floor it would be worm's eye. You can use these to bring more perspectives.

Focal Point
10/31/16
In this project we had to take pictures that has a focal point. I took pictures that draws your eye straight to what I want the viewer to look at. In the final photo below, I used fill the frame with the Herschel tag on my backpack because I when you view the picture, your eye draws straight to the Brand tag.. It is similar to be seen this way from bird's eye view from above. I learned that I must make sure to use fill the frame when it comes to this and to work with not ass much detail everywhere so it can focus on what I want the viewer to see.

Aperture
10/4/16
In this project we had to take pictures using aperture by having a group of four from one being a photographer and the other three as models to take a picture of as an example. We used different measures of aperture starting at 5.6 to 8 to 11, then to 16 then 22. It creates a more focused photo towards what the photographer wants the viewer to see and be drawn to when it first view the photo. We took pictures with the three people staggered diagonally to get better example of aperture.

Black And White + Toning
10/3/16
In this project we had to take multiple pictures around the area near our campus for an hour and then we had to select a picture or two to use in photo-shop to bring out more emphasis in black and white and also by toning the picture. In my photos below I had used composition rule leading lines and as well as focal point due to the wall leading in a direction showing depth in range and then as well as the other two photos that are toned and black and white, they draw your eye straight to what I want you to look at which is the lettering and it is filled in with the point of full of thirds. In this project I admired to take unoticeable work that will soon not be there to become a image beyond what it is. I learned it could bring out more density to a photo and give a different character to the photo. My favorite was "Fight Together Not Against" because it has a message to it and has a lot more focus to it. These techniques can be used again in projects to make a better focal point and density to where and what I want to make the photo more a appealing and attractive.

Rules of Composition
This is one of the first projects... It's about all the rules of composition and we had to do 3 pictures for 15 rules. (Such as rule of thirds, rule of odds, fill the frame, leading lines, symmetry, viewpoint, background, depth, and so on) The composition makes the picture strong and makes the best images because it becomes more appealing to the eye.
